In my unique consulting and coaching firm, Syzygy, I help teams and executives uncover their passions and discover their purpose to guide them to an inspired future through the power of the horse. Over the course of my lifetime, I’ve discovered that I find a great deal of inspiration when I am in the presence of my horses. As a certified Equine Guided Educator, I integrate individual and group interaction with horses into traditional coaching and consulting work to enhance leadership and communication skills, and create innovative breakthroughs in a ‘not so traditional way.’ Bringing the horse into the transformation process is a powerful and experiential path to help people learn more about themselves. Teams discover new ways of working together, leaders experience the intricacies of leadership styles and individuals get to the heart of their feelings and desires. The horse as a teacher, mirrors body language and emotion - bringing new insights in new ways - creating impactful and lasting change.

My love for horses started very early in my life, when my mother would let me ride around the block with the neighborhood kids as a three year old, on my beloved Pere (pronounced Pierre). My family often took horse camping trips and I gained my passion for the Colorado mountains. As a child I showed in local and state 4H shows, and started training my own horses as a teenager. I was part of the Adams County Performance Horse Team for many years, and was so lucky to have wonderful coaches over those years that provided me with a solid horse knowledge foundation.

In my twenties, I worked for Smith Farm Performance Horse Partnership, where we bred over 30 world class performance horses. It is here that I gained my first exposure to dressage, after watching Robert Dover do a demonstration ride at an AHSA fund raiser. I dabbled in some jumping lessons for a time being, but always held dressage as a goal. My son was young, however, and so I started a 4H club and bought him a horse to show for several years. When his interest leaned toward sports, I took over his horse and he became my dressage horse, riding under Dolly Hannon.

I now have a Swedish Warmblood mare, a Paint mare and still have my son’s old 4H horse. After several years of riding with Nicki Gold, which really provided me with great appreciation for creating a supple and balanced connection with my horse, I am enjoying my horses in a low-key sort of way: trail rides, occasional lessons or clinics - which might be dressage or even ranch horse versatility, and the joyous hugs each morning as I go out to feed.

My horses provide me with joy everyday and I’m thankful to have them in my life. I am thrilled to help build this organization that will help keep people and their horses together.
